I'm having trouble finding insurance for my 2001 Volvo 770 that will soon be titled as a motorhome in MI.  Any suggestions??  Michigan is a no fault State!!.....gives us lower rates that are always higher!!!

Check out the HDT Resource Guide!  A variety of insurance options, and I'm sure a few MI users will chime in.  I went to my local insurance agent I was already using (Country), explained what I had, and they just made me send in some photos.  Covered the truck and trailer separately, believe it or not!

AON - Now Poliseek - Truck and trailer (they require both to be insured with them) $1400 per year.

I've had Liberty Mutual for a long time, house, toy, truck and 5er.  when I retired I asked if they had retirement rates, wow, they re-wrote the house and truck and saved me hundreds.  Funny they don't tell you unless you ask!

Do you have MI Title and MI No Fault??  Is this thru a agent or a long distance relationship??  Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes it's titled in MI.  I got the insurance from my local agent.  He actually wrote it through an agency in Grand Rapids.  And yes it's no fault.  If you want the name of the agency I can get it for you when I get to work tomorrow

I would check out Thum Insurance Agency.
they are located in Grand Rapids.
They handle National Interstate.

I called American Modern and was told they would not insure a commercial vehicle turned motor home.

I called Progressive and was told if they could insure it, it would only be within a 500 mile radius of my home.

Agent info would be great.

I will be checking with Thum in Grand Rapids as suggested by 1Merv's post tomorrow.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS!!

I will post that info tomorrow when I get to work.  They have my truck and trailer insured with separate policies.

No regular Progressive agent, including Progressive Direct, knows that Progressive has a company that writes RV toter insurance, nor do they have access to it.  MDT/HDT RV coverage from Progressive is only available through agents that specialize in RV insurance.

I realized I had the file in my truck.  The name of the agency is Grand General Insurance Agency, 3030 Ivanrest, Grandville, MI 49418.  I don't have the phone number because it was all done through my local agent.  Hope this helps.
