Powered Passenger Cab Lift

Mike Council (Mike) wanted to make it easier for his wife, Jo Ann, to get into the cab of his Volvo VNL770. He approached hjsdds (Henry) to engineer a solution.  Armed with Cad-Cam, Henry came up with a solution that is very interesting.

Mike cut the side fairing panel and mounted it on a hinge.

Here the fairing door is open.

The lift mechanism is mooted to the truck frame.
 

 

The lift drops down form the stored position.

The lift mechanism is hydraulic driven.
 

 

 

The lift platform is in position.

 

 

 

 

Any away we go getting raised to the floor of the cab.


Just the hinged section of the side fairing could be useful to many Volvo owners.
