Ok, I've been calling to various finance companies and they are more than willing to finance the 5ver.

Anyone know who finances HDT's?

We never sought financing when we bought ours so I can't speak from personal experience.  Other posts lead me to believe it's kind of tough to do.  Banks don't seem to understand these trucks.

My bank financed mine, but then they have financed a lot of stuff for me that a lot of people wouldn't have considered

I was honest and informative with my local credit union about what I wanted to purchase and what I intended to with an HTDT.  Approval was quick.  Might be that I just got lucky but that's what worked for me

A good personal relationship with a lending institution goes a long way.  Be honest and tell them your intended use of the truck.

Find someone in truck sales who will give you the "black book" price to verify loan value and it is a good idea to have a handful of TruckPaper ads printed off for comparable.  DO NOT mention the word COMMERCIAL for any reason whatsoever.  (mainly because you are not going to be)

Try RV Lending Group in Illinois (rvlendinggroup.com).  They broker loans for Commerce Bank in Kansas City.  But make SURE you ask about their added closing costs (loan origination fee, etc.)  They failed to disclose them to me and I didn't know about it until the very last moment.  Other than that issue, I had nothing but good results with them...and they DO specialize in HDT's, especially Super C / truck conversions like mine.

Personal and Bank of America or a contradiction in terms.

I do all of my business at a bank that knows my name when I walk through the door, even if it is only twice a year.  I don't like BOA for their support of illegal immigrants.  (No ID, No problem, here's your new account!)

I was able to get mine through HEC Leasing.  I have a lease to own deal and they gave me permission to modify it all I want in the contract.  Only stipulation was to return it in original condition if I don't do the buyout on the back end (which is not going to be a factor).
