"Modern" RVs are not built to very high standards when it comes to the structural integrity around the hitch attach area.  These are the cracks that developed after only one season of puling with a solid hitch and an MDT.  By the way it had an articulated head (moving in two directions)

This was during my "younger days" when my traveling was still limited by the four letter word "work" and I would do only 3-5,000 miles per year.
MDTs, like the FL-70 are particularly harsh on the RV's
